The History of Marymont Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, the Marymont mansion has been an icon on Rucker Lane since the mid 1800s. Built by Hiram Jenkins, Jr. on 640 acres of land in approximately 1861, Marymont was constructed of handmade brick fired in a kiln located on the property. At Marymont Springs, subtle elements throughout the community reflect the rich history this property holds. Some of the homes in Marymont Springs pay tribute to the architecture of the historic mansion, which has been described as “one of the last large Classical Revival homes erected in Middle Tennessee prior to the Civil War.”
